Kabaka is suffering from an allergy, says Katikkiro Mayiga

Buganda Kingdom Katikkiro (prime minister) Charles Peter Mayiga on Friday dismissed speculation about Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi’s II’s health and said that he (the Kabaka) is “having challenges related to allergies that cause him breathing difficulties.”

“On Tuesday April 13, 2021, we celebrated the 66th birthday of our Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II and thanked God for the long life. Those who followed the events on TV and social media noticed that the Kabaka’s disposition was different from that that his subjects are used to. We all face ailments from time to time.  In the Kabaka’s case, the challenges are related to allergies that cause him breathing difficulties, especially when he wears a mask or face shield.

I would like to urge you to disregard the rumours on social media that the Kabaka had been poisoned. They are totally wrong, baseless and unfounded. They cause unnecessary anxiety,” Mr Mayiga said in a televised address on Friday afternoon.

According to the Katikkiro, king is getting the best care from health experts around him.

His statement came just hours after the Kabaka and the Nnabagereka (queen) Sylvia Nagginda on Friday received their first dose of the vaccine against Covid-19 at the Lubiri (palace) in Kireka, Kampala.
Photos circulated on different social media platforms by kingdom officials on Friday morning showed the king and his queen being vaccinated, hours after he was on Thursday, seen shopping at a busy supermarket in Ntinda, a city suburb, following a wave of rumours about his health.

Musician Kabako was on Thursday introduced to the parents of her wife in a lavish ceremony. After 7 years of dating, the couple decided to make it official.

Speaking to Journalists during the event, Jazira revealed he didn't believe Kabako's words that he would make it official until the introduction day.

"I never believed him until today. I always thought he will not make it here because of his playful character but I am grateful to God for this wonderful event," she said.

Kabako's introduction was followed by a Muslim wedding which sealed their marriage.

Following a stream of tweets about his record label contracts with Universal Music Group (UMG), Kanye West shared a video showing what he truly thinks of his Grammy Award.

On Wednesday 16th September, Kanye posted a video of himself urinating on one of his 21 Grammy trophies scooped from 53 nominations.

In the video posted to Twitter, a cream pair of Yeezy Foam Rnnr Ararat shoes can be seen in the bathroom in front of the toilet bowl, which has the seat lifted.

While Kanye West’s face is not seen in the clip, it is hard to assume the video would be featuring another person using the restroom with ’Ye’s Grammy in the toilet and a pair of the rapper’s shoes on their feet.

However, his ammunition was initially pointed at record labels like Def Jam and UMG.

His most recent stunt with the award could be seen as a way to challenge the music industry like he mentioned he would do in a series of tweets earlier today.

The “Jesus Walks” rapper promised fans he would deliver a moment that could change the music industry as a whole.

In a tweet shared to the social media platform, Kanye expressed how humbled he felt to share the details of his contract as he has previously mentioned that he is fighting for the rights to his song masters.

“THIS MOMENT IS GOING TO CHANGE THE MUSIC INDUSTRY FOR GOOD … I FEEL SO HUMBLED AND BLESSED THAT GOD HAS PUT ME IN A STRONG ENOUGH POSITION TO DO THIS … EVERYONE KEEP PRAYING … ITS WORKING … I AM ON MY KNEES THIS MORNING,” he wrote.

A rep from the Recording Academy, the parent company to the Grammy Awards, has yet to respond to Kanye’s actions.

Eddy Kenzo on the AFRIMMA nominations

Uganda’s tourism ambassador, singer and music executive Edrisa Musuza professionally known as Eddy Kenzo has said that it is up to Ugandans to vote him or Diamond Platinumz.

In an interview with Spark Tv, the stamina hit maker explained that it is the people’s choice to vote whoever they want after all they both from East Africa.

“It’s up to the people to vote Diamond Platinumz or myself because he is also East African. I have no problem with that, after all, it has always been me or him.”

According to the list that was released on 11th September, Kenzo and other six Ugandans were nominated in the 7th edition of the African Music Magazine Awards(AFRIMMA) that will take place in Dallas, Texas on 15th November 2020.

Kenzo was nominated in the same category of the Best Male East Africa with other nine icons including Diamond Platinumz which left talks among voters on who will win.

The 2020 edition of these awards will be held virtually in USA due to COVID-19.

Singer John Blaq makes silly mistake live on NBS TV as station apologises over another blunder

Worship House lead pastor and gospel musician Wilson Bugembe hosted singer John Kasadha aka John Blaq in Nansana for a televised church service on Sunday.

However, all did not go well because the ‘Hullo’ singer panicked in his introduction and made a mistake that NBS TV managers must have cringed in their seats if they were watching the live church service that also featured the ‘Wulira Ebbaala’ hitmaker Suspekt Leizor.

After praying for Covid19 cases to reduce and telling social media users to desist from mocking Nansana in favour of Najjera, Pastor Bugembe invited John Blaq and Suspekt to join him on stage. He first asked Blaq to say hello to the online church.

To the ‘Bilibabitya’ singer’s and the viewers’ shock, John Blaq said, “Praise God, dear NTV viewers.” Pastor Bugembe rushed to correct him but it was too late. The singer, who has recently been in trouble with his managers over his social media pages, financial and sexual scandals, realised he had made a mistake which visibly made him look ashamed of himself, but he later composed himself and encouraged his fans by reading the day’s scripture.

The competition between NBS and NTV has of late been so fierce that such blunders have become common. In one of the recent live shows for the battle of lockdown weekend nights, Jose Chameleone thanked NBS TV while he was appearing on NTV Uganda. Also, an NBS TV producer who had been tasked to come up with a clip showing the NBS crew carrying a coffin marked NTV to the grave to show that NBS had defeated NTV in the battle for the Friday night spot shocked many when, possibly working under pressure, came up with an NTV crew carrying a coffin marked NBS TV to the burial ground, and the clip aired to the embarrassment of the Kamwokya-based station.

Meanwhile, John Blaq’s blunder came hours after NBS Saturday Night Live show crew was blasted for donning t-shirts reading ‘ALL LIVES MATTER’ instead of ‘BLACK LIVES MATTER’ in support of George Floyd protests. After realising their mistake, the station’s management apologised to their viewers and promised to up their game.

“Tonight on #NBSSNL, we rubbed many of our viewers, local and international, the wrong way when our team moved to don t-shirts labelled “All Lives Matter.” This was Not our intention, and the outcome is far from what is expected of us. We shall do better,” said NBS TV in a statement.

MC Kats’ HIV status can’t stop me from becoming his lover – Shammy K

Shammy Kalule Nalukenge, is not 100% convinced that MC Kats is HIV positive as the TV personality revealed in 2019 and she is ready to fall in love with him regardless of his status.

Last year, Edwin Katamba a.k.a MC Kats revealed to the world that he has been living with AIDS for several years. His baby mama Fille also recently confirmed the revelation while on an interview with NBS TV’s Karitas Karisimbi.

Fille and MC Kats separated and we have often seen the celebrated emcee in the company of Shammy K, a songstress who was signed to his music label/management Kats Music.

Rumors have always circulated that the two are seeing each other and consider becoming an item in future. MC Kats has, however, always declined to talk about the issue.

While appearing on an interview with Leero Luno (a local YouTuber), Shammy K revealed that she does fancy MC Kats and considers becoming his fiancee.

Shammy K, who is hoping on falling in love with the celebrated emcee, revealed that given a chance to become Kats’ girlfriend, she would easily consider it.

When asked about if she is aware of Kats’ HIV status and if it would be a determinant in her decision making on whether to fall in love with him or not, Shammy K had this to say.

The six weeks of Club Beatz online entertainment ended over the weekend. Several artists entertained their guests in the online concert that was hosted by comedienne and actress Martha Kay.

The 2-hour-show kicked off with South Africa's Mafikizolo who were performing from Johannesburg. Afro-soul music star Kenneth Mugabi was next in line doing his vocals.

Navio and Pallaso followed in that order doing their new and old hits.

The highlight of the show was when Lydia Jazmine, Irene Ntale and Lillian Mbabazi performed together, reminding the fans of the once all girl group Blu3.

Irene Ntale was on the guitar as Lydia Jaz and Mbabazi did the backing up on their respective songs. They first did Nkubanja by Lydia Jazmine which they pulled off so well considering it was a live event.

Irene Ntale's Kyolowoza was the next song the trio performed only to wind up with the local segment of of their songs with Blu3's Vitamin.

The fans are proposing that the three should be thinking of teaming up already.

It was time for Irene Ntale to put the guitar down for them to try out Tina Turner's 'Simply the Best', this got out the very best all of them and it was not long before the social media judges were giving their verdict after the performance, the vast majority seemed to say that they pulled it off, though they advised them to keep to their local dialect.

Irene Ntale's guitar skills and Lillian Mbabazi's vast experience with her Sundowners band gave them an edge over Lydia Jazmine.

Cindy the King herself crowned off the performance with her squat dance moves clad in a creme outfit that left some to conclude that she was expecting.
